Anonymous said: It's really sad that when you run such an amazing science blog, all people want to do is ask about your possible relationship status. I'm more interested to know what sparked your passion for science? And are you possibly going to have a career on that field in the future?

Yay more actually intelligent questions and no hate mail or attacks <3 You’ve made my morning. I actually always loved science, back home I didn’t see myself in science because I was not yet in the US and women typically needed to go to the West to get a quality education, but usually men get sent to America.  I happened (through a very long sad story) to get to America where I was enrolled in a few good schools, my love really came when I went to a science programme as a kid called WINS (Women in Science something like that) and I fell in love with science. I then began to work in my mom’s lab at the cancer center and learn and see so much, I started to really enjoy it. Apparently I impressed the doctors there so much that they petitioned for me to work there next summer and they began to show me somethings and I shadowed them a little bit, all of which made me really want to be a pathologist. I only realized lately that my love for people as well as chronic disease issues in the US and the double burden of disease back home makes me want to be an Oncologist!
