The mimic octopus is a master of disguise. Its camouflage abilities allow it to adopt myriad shapes, keeping it safe from potential predators. The mimic octopus was discovered in 1998 off the coast of Indonesia, and researchers have recorded at least 15 different of its ‘disguises’ including, stingray, snake, lion fish and rock.
