Everything we eat is flooded with ‘virtual water’ - water that’s used in the process that takes food from the source to the supermarket. In fact, 70% of the world’s water consumption feeds the agriculture industry, and a new report has released the average global water footprints for some our most common foods.
It takes more than 150 litres to produce a piece of pizza and over a 1,000 litres to produce a loaf of bread.
