An illegal trader with 7 gorilla skulls and 11 chimpanzee skulls was arrested in Cameroon this week, following joint operations between the Last Great Ape Organization (LAGA) and the Government of Cameroon. The Cameroon team tracked the trafficker as he moved the contraband from the south to the capital, Yaounde, marking the second major bust of ape skull dealers in Cameroon this month. as a side note, this was my two cents on the comments from this facebook photo where people suggested this man be murdered, either by hanging or decapitation:
Maybe there should be a way to stimulate the local economy so that people no longer find the need to kill these animals/destroy the environment, as well as education on how this affects biodiversity and the environment in the context of issues that matter to them. You simply cannot scream “KILL HIM!” If so you foolishly ignore intelligent reasoning and the multifaceted approach needed to cure the evils of this situation- to prevent poaching forever, not just create an endless loop of poaching and punishment.
